On its mission to rapidly reduce emissions in the aviation sector, Spark e-Fuels is developing new technologies for streamlined, highly flexible, and efficient e-fuel production processes. Our ideas are investigated efficiently and purposefully in laboratory setups and validated for scale-up to larger systems, always with the target application of sustainable fuels at decentralized production sites in mind.

We seek a highly motivated chemical or process engineer to support our lab-scale material and process research and development.

You will support our catalyst synthesis and operate our lab-scale reactor units, and contribute to material and process development. Throughout the projects, you will be responsible for experimental design, data acquisition and evaluation, iteration, and communication of results. You will directly contribute to the strategic focus and conceptualization of Spark’s technology development.

How you contribute to success

• Execute research projects, demonstrating expertise in designing and executing experiments to achieve project objectives.
• Take responsibility for maintaining reactor units and analytical equipment, ensuring high data quality and reproducibility.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data using advanced analytical tools and software.
• Support the synthesis and characterization of novel catalyst materials
• Document experimental procedures and results.

• You have a degree in chemical engineering, industrial/physical chemistry, or a related field, or a relevant vocational qualification complemented by initial work experience.
• You have first hands-on experience building, operating, and troubleshooting thermocatalytic testing units and online gas-phase analytics.
• You have a deep understanding of heterogeneous catalysis or closely related research areas.
